Christmas Gift 2022
Scripture Reference:
Isaiah 7:1-2 ‘… in the days of Ahaz, king of Judah, Rezin,
the king of Syria, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not
prevail.’
Isaiah 7:3-9, ‘Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, ‘Go meet
Ahaz…’ ‘… and say, ‘Take heed, and be quiet, fear not, neither be
fainthearted…’ ‘…thus said the LORD GOD, it shall not stand, nether shall it
come to pass. For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is
Rezin; and within threescore and five (65) years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be
not a people.’ ‘… and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not
believe, surely ye shall not be established.’
Isaiah 7:10-14, ‘Moreover the LORD spake again to Ahaz,
saying, ‘Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy GOD; ask it either in the depth, or in
the height above. But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.
And he (Isaiah) said, ‘Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for
you to weary men, but will ye weary my GOD also?’ ‘Therefore, the LORD himself
shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and
shall call his name Immanuel.’
Amid the conflict between kings and war would seem an
unlikely place to couch the prophetic promise of JESUS CHRIST, The Son of GOD,
who is born to redeem all men. Israel had lived many hundreds of years and each woman was hoping to birth the Messiah of Israel. This prophetic proclamation was spoken hundreds
of years before it occurred into the ears of kings who would not see the
promise fulfilled.
The promise of the redeemer, at first, does not seem to
appear to be the solution for Israel’s conflict with Syria. However, as is true
of scriptural Truths, the deepest Truths are hidden in the simplest Truths.
JESUS came to fulfill the promise of GOD to heal the soul
of man from the sickness of sin and depravity of all sinners of every
generation.
One JESUS came to bear the sin burden for all people and
redeem all people with HIS own sacrificial blood to fully pay GOD’s price of
justice because of Adam and Eve's sin.
JESUS, Immanuel, {translated: GOD with us} came to be with
us corporately and individually. JESUS coming to save the whole world is a
great gift of GOD (John 3:16, ‘For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS only
begotten SON that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish but have
everlasting life.’).
JESUS coming to save each of us individually and personally
is a greater, intimate, and gloriously precious gift.
JESUS cross, HIS death, burial, and triumphant resurrection, ascension and eternal Lordship is the gift foretold in the frankincense,
myrrh, and gold. Each of these items are a prelude to Calvary, that arrived
with the magi as they journeyed to view the miracle baby, born of a virgin, in
a stable in Bethlehem.
More than tinsel, gift exchanges, and one day in the last
month of the year, may this CHRIST-mas, and JESUS be a miraculous gift good for
every day of our lives.
Feel free to shine,
One Light
